Academic Activities:Faculty of
psychiatric are involved in teaching
learning activities of B.Sc. Nursing &
Certificate Nursing mainly focusing on
Mental Health Nursing, Behavioural
Sciences, Fundamental of Nursing
Education, Administration & Research in
addition to coordination of 1st year
B.Sc. Nursing. Besides, teaching nursing
students, they are also involved in
teaching learning activities of BMIT
Service Activities:There are
about 80 beds under the department of
psychiatric nursing which includes
dermatology ward, tropical ward, along
with psychiatric ward. Besides providing
direct patient care in these areas
department also is responsible of
coordination of CSSD.
Patient care services include
- Providing wholistic care to the
patients mainly focusing on
psychological needs by keeping in
mind the body mind relationship.
- Observing the patients'
behaviour & reporting whenever
necessary.
- Engaging the patients in
psychiatric ward by recreational
therapy and other means.
- Formal and informal need based
health education to clients and
visitors.
- Providing counseling to the
patients and relatives.
- Administration of medications as
prescribed.
- Meeting physical needs of the
patient e.g. comfort needs, hygienic
needs & nutritional needs.
- Assisting in diagnosis and
therapeutic measures. etc
Research Activities:-Faculty
are actively involved in conducting
various research projects including
coordinating & guiding the B.Sc. Nursing
research activities. |
